eHealth+ "Your All-in-One Health Link" Promotes Closer Collaboration Among Healthcare Sectors

"Under the eHealth+ initiative, the Government has rolled out a series of new measures and functions, including supporting private healthcare providers to deposit medical records into eHealth, thereby creating comprehensive personal electronic health records for citizens. eHealth+ significantly enhances the continuity of care and promotes collaboration across different healthcare sectors," said Professor Lo Chung-mau.

The event featured dynamic performances by the "Stunning Rope Skipping Club" and the "CAN" dance troupe and also included a "Time Tunnel", photo booths, and interactive game booths, offering fun for both adults and children. "I didn't realise that the eHealth App’s 'Caregiver' function could show which vaccines my child had received. It also has new 'eMedical Certificate' and 'Electronic Consent Form' functions," one parent said happily after learning about the various eHealth App features through the exhibitions and games. "It's much more convenient now— I no longer have to search for paper records."

With staff assistance, citizens experienced the convenience of the eHealth App. "The staff helped me register and download the eHealth App today, and showed me how to use it – for example, how to check my Elderly Health Care Voucher balance and how to deposit my medical records to eHealth after visiting a doctor outside Hong Kong. I learned a lot, received a gift, and got everything done in one go—it's so convenient!" an older participant happily shared after mastering these new skills. Mr. Kong, a member of the public, happily shared, "The staff measured my blood pressure, height and weight, and immediately showed me how to use the 'Health Management' function in the eHealth App. This will help my doctor better understand my health at my follow-up appointments. Right after I entered the data, they even gave me a small gift —it was wonderful!"

An award presentation ceremony was also held for the "eHealth+ Intergeneration Pilot Programme", recognizing participating secondary schools including Marymount Secondary School, Tai Kwong Hilary College, HKSKH Bishop Hall Secondary School, and NLSI Lui Kwok Pat Fong College. The ceremony commended a group of "Youth Ambassadors" for their immense patience in guiding elderly people, step-by-step, to use the eHealth App, using relatable everyday examples to help them overcome their fear and unfamiliarity with digital technology.

Participating students shared that many elderly people completely changed their view of electronic health services. "During our interactions, the elderly people were pleasantly surprised by the functions of the eHealth App. They used to think electronic products were difficult and troublesome, but once we taught them, they realised how simple and convenient the eHealth App actually is." The "eHealth+ Youth Ambassadors" perfectly demonstrated the power of intergenerational harmony.
